IN HER WORLD (NIGERIA)
In her world,
Betides, in her natural endowment,
Conspicuous upon the surface of her skin,
Charming yet meaningless to her.
Giant and mentor she claims,
Marching the rhythmic tune of archaic ballads,
But crippled, as observed by
Masters and servants.
Constabularies, she willingly set up;
Enslaved her children's ingenuity
For personal egocentrism,
Hmmm, better offer, gaining she thought.
Culturally, socially, and morally advanced
She thought. Unfortunately,
Bastardized in the real sense.
Grateful to masters she felt,
Repressed and regret in the long run.
Impregnated by the master.
Wow!!! Congratulations. Surprisingly,
Few men and many women, with traits like
hatred, corruption, and mutual suspicion,
She begat.
Many women climbed the ladder of hope
But yet to reach the peak of it
Condolence to the future voters
Bearing in hands, false fruit of hope.
Standstill they remain, yearning for
Unrealistic hope of better morrow.
Loftily, certainty for the few men and not hope
Bequeathed in them apparently,
Leadership destiny and not saviour
Indisputably, future leaders.
In her world,
Rice is permitted to chastise beans,
Lion permitted to eat grasses
No crime! No crime! No crime!
Whoredom and lawlessness, all acceptable,
But happy and sad with it.
Revolution, brave women sing like that of the Aba,
Counterfactually, some felt, more or less like cowards
Happily they manage and hope just like people under spell
Alas, state of discomfort and discombobulation they are.
Now Waiting for the hope
From the east, west, north, and south,
Laughing, the escaped endowment.
Even the unborn, already acclimatized
To her way of living.
Who is going to salvage her?
