Risk in what regards? The question may sound somehow but I will provide an answer
Possible risk in studying in Nigeria
1. Over reliance on certificate: Most people in Nigeria think that education is all about getting certificate and using the certificate to get job. This is one of the big problem why education seems not to be working in human capacity development in Nigeria.
2. Education as a tool to getting good jobs: most people in Nigeria sees education as a tool to getting good jobs and as a result do not see the other important opportunities that lies in education
3. Less Value: very soon, if nothing is done about education in Nigeria, then degrees from Nigerian schools may no longer be well regarded.
4. Outdated knowledge: With the way knowledge is advancing as a result of globalization. Schooling in Nigeria may leave graduates to be outdatedly knowledgeable. This is because the curriculum that are still in use are old, outdated and not in line with recent developments in Education
Solution to the problem
1. Re-orientation about education
2. The need for students not to rely only on what they are being taught in class
3. Introduction of more practicals into learning. All courses must be practically done and not only on theories.
4. Update of curriculum
5. Seeing education as a tool for development.
6. Professional course together with school work
