Termination as the name implies is the act of putting an end to a contractual agreement between two parties.
Termination of Employment is the process where by an employer put an end to the employment agreement with the employee. In essence, the employer sack/ lay-off its workers. Termination may be as a result of poor performance by the employee, poor business condition, cost reduction or as a result of having too many staffs in which they may want to reduce.
Dismissal of Employment

Dismissal involves sacking or laying-off of an employee as a result of commtting a serious offense or a gross misconduct which may affect or affecting the contract employer. Dimissal of a staff is usually as a result of serious offence on the part of the employee and is usually a dent on the track record of the employee. Dismissal can occur as a result of fraudulent act by employee, unprofessional conduct at work, gross misconduct that negate the professional ethics of the business.
Differences between Termination and Dismissal
1. Termination is most times not as a result of offense by the employee, but Dismissal occurs as a result of serious offense or committing a gross misconduct by the employee
2. Dismissal dents the image of the employee, termination does not dent the image of the employee
3. Dismissal affects the chance of getting any future employment by the employee, termination though may affect the chance of employment of the employee it's effect is not as strong like that of dismissal.
